Position: Field Service Engineer

Salary: $38-$44/hr + Overtime
Travel: 80%
Oliver Carol Recruitment is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer for our client in the Chicago area. Our client values trust, ownership, passion, and the commitment to quality. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong technical background in engineering or robotics, eager to tackle various challenges in the field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge equipment, interact directly with customers, and travel extensively across the U.S., Canada, and occasionally Mexico and Europe.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Installation & Repair: Install systems and upgrades, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair equipment at customer sites and their in-house workshop.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support, assess maintenance needs, and assist in generating quotations and orders.
- Training: Develop and deliver training programs for customers and internal teams.
- Project Involvement: Participate in special projects such as product development and sales demonstrations.
- Travel: Extensive travel within the U.S. and Canada (70-80%), with occasional trips to Mexico and Europe.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in engineering, robotics, or a related technical field. Equivalent training or experience in electrical, mechanical, or similar fields is also acceptable. Previous field service experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle negotiations effectively.
- Independent decision-making capabilities within established guidelines.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driving license required.
